Viivi Update

Basic Update Method

When the new version of Viivi is released, the user can update the old version to the new one.

Basically, the updating method is to overwrite the system files in the Viivi system directory by unzipping the new Viivi package zip file into the Viivi system directory.
The detailed step-by-step methods for unzipping are the same as those described in Installation.

Please note the followings:

Notes on Update

• The files in the Viivi system directory will be overwritten when the package zip file is extracted.
  If you have edited the files
  • the boot-up file (viivi or viivi.bat)
  • the kernel configuration file (viivi.vcnf)
  in the Viivi system directory, then it is recommended to copy or move these files into other directory, or to copy or rename these files to those of the names appended with an extension such as ".SAVE", before the update.
  


• Viivi copyright description is necessary only in the configuration file viivi.vcnf in the Viivi system directory.
  In the new package, the copyright description in the configuration file viivi.vcnf may be changed.
  When the update is processed by overwriting extraction, then the configuration file viivi.vcnf in the Viivi system directory is automatically updated, and hence the copyright description is also updated.
  
  If the configuration files located in different directories, or the configuration files restored from an archive, included old descriptions of the copyright, then Viivi does not boot.
  Please remove the old configuration files, or edit/remove the copyright description in the old configuration files.
