viivi.vcnf/.viivirc < System Files < Viivi's Cell < Entrance
The Viivi distribution package includes only
viivi.vcnf
but not
.viivirc
.
Both files are configuration files
in order to specify Viivi kernel's behavior
at the boot time.
The extension
.vcnf
of the configuration file
viivi.vcnf
is an abbreviation for
"Viivi configuration
".
The other file
.viivirc
was named following to the naming rule that
"begins with .
and ends with rc
(run command
)"
for the hidden configuration file of Unix.
Both have the same contents of descriptions.
Multiple configuration files can be created in the different directory-hierarchies
according to the user's needs.
The contents of the files are Scheme codes.
But only a limited number of procedures are available,
and the processes and the results are never displayed.
The differences between these files are only as follows:
viivi.vcnf
is visible but
.viivirc
is invisible
on the Unix-like platforms by default
.viivirc
are evaluated, and then those of
viivi.vcnf
.viivi.vcnf
has the higher priority.

is a back-up file.
Please leave it as it is.
When the configuration file works properly after being edited,
it is recommended to save the file with the name

ending with .SAVE
to avoid being overwritten at updates.
