Here are the solutions for the frequently asked questions (FAQ) for Viivi.

Even if you miss your question here, it might be listed in Known Problems.

• Java setting is correct, but Viivi never boots up.
  
  • Viivi version 00.18.00 is currently confirmed to run only with Oracle's Java on Windows and Linux.
    It may not work with other versions of Java, such as OpenJava.
    Please try it with Oracle's Java.
  
  
  • The copyright description in the setting files are different and incompatible, between those for version 00.17.01 and older, and those for version 00.18.00 (and newer).
    If you still have the older setting files
    • viivi.vcnf
    • .viivirc
    • viivi.ide.vcnf
    then please try to boot it again, after removing or renaming all these files.
    Note that the settings for kernel and IDE are all initialized in this case.
  
  
• Viivi IDE used to run so far, but suddenly from a time it does not.

  In most cases, ANY of the setting file viivi.ide.vcnf for IDE are BROKEN.
  Perhaps it was NOT saved correctly at the previous save time.
  To solve the problem, try to boot it again after removing or renaming the setting file

  • viivi.ide.vcnf
  Note that the settings for IDE are all initialized in this case.

• I want to use Viivi just like other implementations, with NO trace-output at all.

  Please use the argument-command

  	-T false

  Note that, however, the trace-output cannot be used in this case until Viivi boots again.
