A Critical BUG was Fixed

Contents

On some platforms other than Windows, if you tried to boot Viivi up just after expanding the zip package file into an appropriate directory, Viivi looked for a configuration file "/viivi.vcnf" in the root directory and failed.
As the result, you could not try Viivi with the simplest installation.
This critical bug has been discouraging users from trying Viivi.

This problem has been fixed in the latest version.
This problem did not occur when the environmental variable VIIVI_HOME wasset in the installation "Stage-C", so it could not be noticed in the author's environment.
I apologise for the inconvenience caused to many people who were interested in Viivi.
I hope you will try Viivi again!

An Easy Try

  1. Download the file viiviPackage.xx.xx.xx.zip from the Download page,
    expand it into an appropriate directory (a directory Viivi in your home directory is recommended).
  2. Open a termina/CMD window, enter the directory in which you expanded the file and enter the following command:

    	$ ./viivi -K⮠		Unix-like platforms (sh) ($ is a shell prompt)
    	% ./viivi -K⮠		Unix-like platforms (csh) (% is a shell prompt)
    	> .\viivi -K⮠		Windows platform (> is a cmd prompt)

  3. To exit from Viivi, enter the following code:

    	> (exit)⮠ Common for all platforms

  4. For more detailed instructions, please refer to the YouTube tutorial video series "Walking in the Woods of Scheme with Viivi".
